About Us
Michael Walker, DVM
Dr. Walker has over 40 years of experience in animal medicine and surgery. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974.
Dr. Walker is married to Barbara Allen, also a veterinarian, and they have two children: Matt and Katie. The Walkers share their life with numerous companion pets.
Peggy Gibbs
Peggy has been with Forest Animal Hospital for 21 years! She is originally from Morrow, Ohio and has two daughters, Jodi and Shannon. Peggy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team at Forest Animal Hospital.
Dena Vowell
Dena has been a loyal employee of Forest Animal Hospital since 1997, after working previously in banking and insurance. She studied Business Technology at East Central Community College in Decatur, MS finishing in 1992.
Dena is married to Randy and they have two children, Baylee and Ethan. They also are loving parents to a variety of fur-babies including: Bud, Sassy, LeLe, Gilbert and Ellie.
Krystal Weaver
Krystal’s love of animals is evident from the first moment you meet her and her love begins at home. She has several animals including: Cowgirl, Coon and Kokomo; a dog, cat and horse respectively. Krystal is a graduate of the veterinary technician program at Ashworth College and has been with Forest Animal Hospital since 2004. She currently resides in Lake, Mississippi.
